Top 20 Authors

Looking beyond the surface of the authors lists, connections become apparent. Some of the most-cited papers came out of vaccine studies, and Novartis researcher Rino Rappuoli tops the list of most-cited authors. Many of his colleagues at Novartis populate the lists.

Roland Nau.

Some of the most prominent vaccine studies were performed in the UK, and UK researchers—including but not limited to Richard Moxon, Brian Spratt, Ray Borrow, and Martin Maiden—are also a dominant presence on the list.

Epidemiology and public health issues are of high, global interest in meningitis research, so it should come as no surprise that there are researchers from all over the world on this list, from the US Centers for Disease Control (Anne Schuchat), France's Pasteur Institut (Muhamed-Kheir Taha), Switzerland's University of Bern (Stephen Leib), Germany's University of Gottingen (Roland Nau), and Taiwan's Chang Gung University (CH Lu).
