CITATION LAUREATES METHODOLOGY AND NOBEL PRIZE REVIEW
Since 2002, Thomson Reuters analyst David Pendlebury has presented his annual listings of Citation Laureates—researchers who are likely to win the Nobel Prize in the coming years.
In these two essays, Pendlebury provides background on this yearly selection process. The “Methodology” essay describes the steps – beginning with citation analysis – that go into identifying science’s most eminent and deserving researchers.
The “Results” essay describes citation-based efforts prior to 2002 by Pendlebury and others to identify potential Nobel Prize winners, and also recaps the numerous successes by Thomson Reuters in anticipating the selections by the Nobel Committee.
