July's Special Topic: Human Papillomavirus

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that there are 40 types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that can cause genital infections in both men and women. The CDC's statistics indicate that as many as 20 million Americans currently have HPV, that 6.2 million will be newly infected annually, and that at least 50% of sexually active people will contract some form of HPV at some point.
