As of January 1, 2009, the
Essential Science IndicatorsSM from
Thomson Reuters data were updated to cover a 10-year plus 10-month
period, from January 1998 to October 31, 2008. With this update, the
data pool expanded to include an additional 1,647 scientists, 236
institutions, 11 countries, and 131 journals that are either entirely
new to Essential Science Indicators, or new to one of the
database’s 22 fields. ScienceWatch.com presents a listing
of those New Entrants that showed the greatest total citations.
