Thomson Reuters data were updated to cover a
10-year plus 2-month period, from January 1999 to February 28, 2009.
With this update, the data pool expanded to include an additional
8,244 scientists, 231 institutions, 37 countries, and 134 journals
that are either entirely new to Essential Science
Indicators, or new to one of the database’s 22 fields.
